Questions about the Cemetery

History: When was the cemetery established? Who were the founders? [Answer these and then link – “For more information, visit our History page.”]

Layout: How is the cemetery organized? Are there any specific sections or monuments?

Welcome! The Valley Rico Cemetery is very old and historic, yet we do have “plots” for purchase, similar to many modern cemeteries. We use a 10′ x 10′ grid system that can be navigated on the ground and from right here on our website.

You must make all arrangements and pay for all expenses of interment, so ashes are preferred. (Also, our grounds are very rocky, so it is a lot easier to place a marker and ashes than it is for a full casket burial.) We are here to help, though, and we also need your vital information so that we can include you on our website and maintain your site at the cemetery.

Please download our Valley Rico Cemetery Reservation form, fill it out, and mail it to us at:

Events: Are there any special events or tours offered at the cemetery?

Maintenance: How is the cemetery maintained? Who is responsible for its upkeep?

Association: How do I join the Valley Rico Cemetery Association / Become a Friend of the Valley Rico Cemetery?

Deceased Questions: How do I find out more about specific individuals?

Markers and Monuments

These markers are sculptural art commissioned by the Valley Rico Cemetery, and were created by local artist(s). The sculptures are made of metal and ceramic; reclaimed pieces of old farm equipment, machinery and other historical metal pieces were fused together with rebar and brightly-colored sculpted metal flowers.

The eventual plan for these markers is to have QR codes affixed to them; when visitors scan the QR codes with their phones/devices, directions to various deceased / graves will be displayed for easy on-the-ground navigation.
